I had a gorgeous day recently with my friend Lucy at Stoke Park’s spa in Buckinghamshire. I had a week off from a very intense work schedule and it was the perfect treat.

The spa is huge – the waiting area for the treatments was host to many people on a spa day on the day we visited – it never however felt overcrowded.

I had a fabulous Thalgo Back, Face and Scalp Massage – and really got to relax in the darkened treatment room. We then found our way to the relaxation room that guests can rest in the dark and silence after a treatment. I actually fell asleep in there having had a very, very late night the night before.

The swimming pool is very grand – with a huge high ceiling and a fully windowed wall. Outside there is a ‘Scandinavian sauna’ and a large hot tub. The outdoor sauna was incredibly hot – we didn’t last for too long in there- I think the cold day outside accentuated that!

Each provided with a locker with a robe, towel and slippers – we were asked to choose our lunch on arrival – a huge selection – but for my current work I have to chose healthy so I had the Goats Cheese Salad – there is a good variety of options for everyone.

The current spa offer ‘Spring Awakening Spa Retreat’ at Stoke Park costs £155 per person and includes

  • 2 x 55 minute treatments from a selection
  • Full use of the facilities including outdoor hot tub and Scandinavian sauna
  • 2 course healthy Spa lunch
  • A gift to take home with you

  1. looks amazing, I went to a spa day a couple of weeks ago, its great to chill, especially when you are a therapist, like myself and used to giving other people treatments 🙂
