I agreed to take part in the #AveenoSkincareSecrets blogger tag challenge as part of a sponsored post. I was sent the Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion to try.
In effect I was tagged by a friend to try Aveeno years ago when she asked me to bring it back from America as it wasn’t readily available in the UK at the time. I didn’t try it. My house was at the time full of body moisturisers, so when the chance came up recently I realised that somehow I’d always missed my Aveeno moment.
It’s a daily non-greasy lotion, and has been clinically proven to improve the condition of dry skin from the first time it is applied.
Skincare Secrets –
I have really dry legs – they don’t flake – but they are dry and they can from time to time itch with irritation. I’ve been applying the moisturiser in the evenings – and always to my legs – they are currently in fantastically moisturised condition! So smooth are my legs, that when applying self tan for a current work project, my legs – which are the only problem area I ever have with self tan – for once tanned completely evenly.
My skincare secret that I make no secret of is that I use SPF on my face every day and have done since I was a teenager. Still I have sun damage and I can’t imagine what my skin would be like if I hadn’t followed this rule! Always respect your skin type, mine isn’t a skin that easily tans- but every skin needs protection.
I don’t pick my skin. I don’t squeeze spots – no matter how much I am tempted. If I have a spot that clearly needs squeezing- I use a cotton pad and alternate hot then cold water on it – until the spot naturally disperses. Always remember squeezing can break the follicle wall and spread infection making the whole situation worse!
I don’t suffer with eczema and therefore am only going by the experience of others but Aveeno products have been long trusted by sufferers of the skin condition.
