Sweet Lemongrass massage Blog

There’s no massage at Sweet Lemongrass Massage, that costs more than 550BHT, which is about £12.00.

I had the 90 minute ‘Natural Oil Massage’, which cost me exactly that. It’s located completely off the beaten track – yet people go out of their way find it – which really says something considering there are massage places, and beauty salons on every single corner in Patong.

It’s incredibly rustic, fabulously clean, professional and friendly. I had read fantastic reviews about it on Trip Advisor, but there is nothing that really advises you on how to find it. I asked everyone – even in a bar that turned out to be 250 metres from it – with no luck at all.

How to find it –

The best description, for anyone who has read about it and would be interested going there, would be to walk or get a taxi, all the way up the Nanai Road, and when you see Pinky’s on the corner next to the Seeka Boutique Hotel take the road down in the direction of the sea. It is about 5 units down on the right.

I walked from Patong Beach and I really enjoyed seeing everything on the way – I’d say it’s no more than 1.5 miles. Walking around feels so safe – you may just need to swerve a couple of motorbikes – I ended up down a couple of really quiet side streets and alleyways while looking for the turning, and absolutely no one bothers you. I couldn’t help but stop and photograph this petrol station as I walked – this was about half way there – so watch out for it.

I wish I was here for another day to try their ‘Mixed Thai and Oil Massage’ but I’m sure there will be many other places on my Thailand travels. I wouldn’t say it was the best massage I’ve ever had in my life, but taking into consideration the setting and the price, I would highly recommend it.

One other thing I would say; definitely call and book beforehand – there are only 3 massage beds and appointments can be long. And secondly I would book in the evening, I had a 6pm appointment, because walking out into the blazing sun covered in oil won’t work out very well for the majority of people’s skin.
