Kirsty Gallacher – 9 Top Summer Beauty Picks

I’ve loved doing top summer beauty picks with one of my very best friends Kirsty Gallacher on our holiday in Southern Spain. She always looks amazing – she’s one of the most naturally beautiful people I’ve ever seen. Because work involves professional make-up and daily heat styling on holiday she keeps things very natural – bare nails, very little make-up even in the evening – face masks, body oils and hair treatments.

Kirsty’s Beauty Holiday Picks

1) Charlotte Tilbury Beach Stick ‘Moon Glow’

Kirsty – I love Charlotte Tilbury’s Beach Stick in Moon Glow. I use it in three different ways on my cheeks, eyes and lips – and use it on holiday in the evening over bare skin. It gives a fresh glow – and I have loved using it this summer. It also doesn’t crease – it’s easy to blend and a fabulous highlighter. This is my current favourite make-up item.

(I bought this as a thank you present for Kirsty a few weeks ago, I knew the warm peach was going to suit her skin perfectly. She doesn’t like to have endless pieces of make-up at home and this can be used in so many different ways. It contains a blend of waxes and plumping ceramidone).

2) Murad Intensive-C Radiance Peel

Kirsty – Brilliant for brightening up my skin – I try to use it once a week. I do wear a lot of make-up at work and it this peel always feels like a deep cleanse.

(Apply to clean skin and leave on for 10 minutes before removing with a face cloth or muslin and moisturising. Remember to use a sunscreen after exfoliating to avoid hyper pigmentation and other skin damage from the sun.)

3) ARK Skincare Conditioning Oil

Kirsty – I love everything about this oil. I much prefer an oil on my body – as opposed to creams. The ARK Skincare Conditioning Oil is a multi use product – it hydrates my scalp, my hair and my body. It gives my skin a glow and leaves it lightly scented. It makes me feel as though I’ve just walked out of a spa. And I love there is nothing but goodness in it – the fragrance is 100% natural.

(The Conditioning Oil from ARK Skincare contains a blend of 25 natural essential oils – also Sweet Almond Oil and Vitamin E which are extremely nourishing and easily absorbed into the skin. It can be used on the hair – I use it before swimming and a few drops after washing it – the bath as a relaxing oil, for massage and for the body.)

4) Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara

Kirsty – The Max Factor ‘False Lash Effect Mascara’ is by far the best mascara for me – I love the wand – which I can be quite particular about. The mascara doesn’t clump – it thickens and extends my lashes. I tend to find applying mascara quite a laborious task –  but not with this one – I’ve used it for years.

5) Lancôme Juicy Tube

Kirsty – This is a lip gloss I primarily use in the summer. If you want to wear a gloss it’s fresh and sheer – I don’t like to use a lot of colour. It’s a fun, gorgeous smelling gloss that’s easy to apply. Perfect for the summer and it lasts on the lips.

(This is a very shiny gloss that Lancome do in a range of colours – sheer shades with a hint of colour)

6) Moroccan Oil Intense Hydrating Masque

This is great to use at home and on holiday when your hair is up from swimming. Because my hair is heat treated frequently at work – I love to go away and take care of my skin, body and hair. This masque is not not greasy. I pin my hair up and leave it in for as long as possible!

(Kirsty leaves this in her hair at length, but the recommended way to use this hair treatment is to apply to towel dried, leave for 5-7 minutes and thoroughly rinse.)

7) Aromatherapy Associates Inner Strength Roller Ball

Kirsty – I love this pulse point Roller – this is with me all of the time. Whenever I need a moment of relaxation I apply it to my pulse points. It’s great for a busy life.

(A blend of oils – clary sage, frankincense and cardamom which are all 100% natural and blended together to soothe the mind.)

8) Puressentiel Muscles and Joints Roller

Kirsty – I train a lot and can sometimes feel a bit sore the next day. It really does help to roll this essential oil blend on when I’ve got a sore point or sore area on my body- I recently had a minor neck problem and I used it day and night.

(All of the active ingredients in this product are 100% natural – and it contains a blend of 14 natural oils. It rolls on in exactly the same way you would roll on a deodorant.)

9) La Roche Posay Rosaliac Micellar Make Up Removal Gel

Kirsty – I find this to be a great cleanser for my skin – I don’t like to use creams or cotton wool – I hate the feeling of dragging my skin. Rosaliac is particularly good at getting off heavy work make-up. And most importantly it doesn’t irritate my eyes which are very sensitive. I follow up with a mist – I love a beauty mist – I use Avène Thermal Spring Water Spray because it’s brilliant for after training.

(The Rosaliac Gel has an icy effect which can help skin that reddens. Pat all over the skin and rinse away.)
