I went to Pinehurst in North Carolina for the US Open. I was supporting a friend of mine, and it was my favourite week of the year so far. It was 33-34 degrees every day.
What I did
I had the most fabulous time at Pinehurst and was lucky enough to visit The Pinehurst Spa which is part of the Carolina Hotel. I had the hour long ‘Downtime Massage’, but I stayed in the spa for most of the day. It is an incredibly relaxing place. If you ever find yourself passing through North Carolina – an hour south of Raleigh – do visit the beautiful village of Pinehurst, after my week there I can officially place it on my list of favourite spots around the world.
I had a Hydrafacial facial at Aura Spa when I arrived back from North Carolina. It’s always good to rehydrate the skin after travelling and I was intrigued by the treatment that Aura have recently introduced. It is recommended once a month – and resurfaces the skin – also extracting with a suction machine which is far less painful – the skin is then covered in serum and rehydrated. Hydrafacials start at £110.
I also tried a Lava Shells Facial at my home in Surrey. I had tonsillitis and have also been studying for an exam, I appreciated every minute of the facial which involves massage of the face, neck, and shoulders with heated lava shells. The products used in the treatment are Spa Find natural mineral therapy products.
I discovered a fantastic range called ‘Sanitas Skincare’ at Pinehurst. I bought their Lactic Cleanser and Vitamin C serum. My skin has been exceptionally bright and clear since using both the products – definitely a range to watch out for if you are stateside.
I love products that promote relaxation and I bought some things from the gorgeous range from elizabethW – which originates from San Francisco. I bought a Hot-Cold Flaxseed Pack which is covered in silk. I had it around my neck on the place the whole way home from the USA!
Neither of these ranges are as yet available in the UK. It makes me want them even more!
I love London’s new fried chicken restaurant ‘Moral Fox’ in Notting Hill. The fried chicken with maple syrup, homemade raspberry lemonade, mac and cheese, and fried chicken sandwich leave me wanting to go back again and again. It’s hidden away, and my idea of heaven.

I hope that you had a lovely month, whatever you were doing!
