Estée Lauder’s latest lip launch Pure Color Envy offers a moisturising, highly pigmented, sculpting lipstick. 20 shades are available in the range and I have been testing a nude lipstick ‘Insatiable Ivory’ and a red ‘Envious’.
The lipstick is designed to last for 6 hours, whilst hydrating the lips. The formula is comfortable on the lip and moisturising but as I suffer from dry lips from time to time, I like to use a light lip balm underneath any lipstick. I feel that if you are drawing attention to your lips with lipstick it’s important that they are in good condition! This particular formulation contains the god of all hydrators – hyaluronic acid.
The consistency of ‘Pure Color Envy’ is light and creamy, and due to the high pigmentation of the lipstick a little goes a long way – one swipe is all it takes. The sturdy lipstick case comes with magnetic closure – actually a joy for my make up bag as I hate things losing their lids!
Estee Lauder have split the lipsticks into four shade categories, so if you know a shade category you feel most comfortable in, it’s easy to narrow down your preferred shade.
Nudes to Browns – Insatiable Ivory, Desirable, Intense Nude, Emotional, Decadent
Pinks to Berries – Impulsive, Powerful, Infamous, Tumultuous Pink, Red Ego
Corals to Reds – Potent, Defiant Coral, Impassioned, Envious, Vengeful Red
Mauves to Plums – Dynamic, Rebellious Rose, Dominant, Irresistible, Insolent Plum
I really like these lipsticks, I like the bullet shape of them which make them particularly easy to apply. I’m very eager to try more of the colours, I have my eye on ‘Defiant Coral’ and ‘Infamous’.
