I stumbled across Woodley and Bunny whilst taking a walk in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. An apothecary packed with cosmetic treats from across the globe. It is owned by sisters Misha and Erin Anderson, who’s store is named after their childhood nicknames. Misha is the shopper, she travels the world testing beauty products. Erin is a high end hair stylist.
My favourite product that I found in this store full of delights was a perfume by Olfactive Studio – a perfume range created by perfumer Sidonie Lancesseur purely from looking at a photograph. There were five fragrances in the range that are astoundingly reminiscent of the photos attached to them. The one that I couldn’t stop spraying was ‘Lumiere Blanche’ a cloudy perfume who’s scent captures a day by the sea on a white sand beach.
Woodley and Bunny are the only stockists of Chriostophe Robin, the French hair brand that you should try if you really want to give your hair a treat. Thankfully it is readily available in the UK, infact lookfantastic offer free worldwide postage which is good news all around the globe! Try their Lavender Hair Oil, or their Cleansing Purifying Scalp Scrub with Sea Salt.
The all natural brand ‘Stop The Water While Using Me’ has a philosophy that we should potentially adopt no matter which products we are using. It encourages users of their brand to turn off the shower whilst shampooing or applying shower gel, and therefore avoiding water wastage. I have been more conscious of this since discovering the range.
Aura Balm by Belmacz is in my opinion the stand out product from this British range. The balm contains Rosehip Oil, Cocoa Butter and 24 Carat Gold Leaf. Use it on the lips, eyes, cheekbones – and even down the front of the shins and across the collar bones for a beautiful glow. You can find it in the UK HERE.
I was walked around the store by Katie, she was absolutely wonderful and so knowledgeable. Not only is it an apothecary but also a hair salon. There is also a Woodley and Bunny in LA on West 3rd Street.
Some of my other picks from Woodley and Bunny –
Cleanser 27 by Cosmetics 27 from Paris HERE
Clayspray – the coloured clay face masks HERE
‘Sexual Healing’ by Mark Buxton HERE
Maison Balzac Candles from Australia HERE
Just around the corner from Woodley and Bunny is one of my favourite cafes – ‘Cafe Colette’. I had Butter Bean and Kale Stew topped with a fried egg and parmesan, served with grilled sourdough. It was absolutely delicious. I would love to find a way to recreate it at home.
