My Favourite Beauty Picks – October 2013

MacStrobeCream

MAC’s Strobe Cream £23.50 – Use to illuminate the skin – both on the face and the body. Use under or over make-up, or mix a little into your moisturiser. Kylie used to use this on her legs before performing.

SuperdrugChocolate

Superdrug Dry Shampoo ‘Chocolate Brownie’ £1.99 – This is the dry shampoo that’s a friend to brunettes. I carry the smaller can in my handbag.

PhilipsLumeaPlus

Philips Lumea Precision Plus £450

This month I have begun to see fantastic results with this laser hair removal machine from Philips. I have been sceptical about laser hair removal after paying for an in-salon course of treatments that made next to no difference. Now I am seeing results with the Philips Lumea Precision Plus I am absolutely addicted!

To buy – http://www.amazon.co.uk/philipslumeaplus (currently £350)

MACTurquatic

MAC Turquatic Perfume £23.00

My long standing favourite fragrance – always in my handbag. I’ve worn it for years.

DanielSandlerEyeQuad

Daniel Sandler Eye Shadow Quad ‘Sheer Beauty’ £28.00

I love Daniel’s stunning eye shadow quads. Highly pigmented, perfect for travel or an on the go make-up bag. I’m wearing this combination in the video.

CliniqueRunwayCoral

Clinique Long Last Lipstick ‘Runway Coral’ £17.00

I love this colour – it is indeed a long lasting lipstick – and has a fabulous consistency – won’t leave the lips dry.

CliniqueMoistureSurgeMask

Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask £29.00

A mask that you don’t rinse off until the morning – use instead of a night time moisturiser. I use this across my chest – and area that is often neglected.

CLINIQUEMascara

Clinique Lash Power Mascara in ‘Black Onyx’ £17.00

Clinique mascaras have a longevity – both on the lashes and in the package. They don’t dry out, and you don’t have to work hard when applying. This is my first time using ‘Lash Power’ – I usually use ‘High Impact’ – both fantastic.

DHC

DHC Eye and Lip Makeup Remover £10.00

Gentle on the eye area – removes make-up easily. It’s a two-layer liquid – a combination of oil and hydrating water. I can find certain eye make-up removers irritating – but this one is particularly gentle.

BobbiBrownLongWearBittersweet

Bobbi Brown Long Lasting Cream Eyeshadow £20.00

The shade that I’m using in the video is ‘Bittersweet’ it appears to be universally sold out – if you want something similar use the shade ‘Bark’.  I use mine not only as an eyeshadow – that I apply and then smudge in with a brush. But also as an eyeliner both top and bottom – blend with your finger or a brush. Versatile, and easy to create a strong eye.

AnastasiaBrowGenius

Anastasia Brow Genius £18.00

I cannot get a better result on my eyebrows than when I use this set! As I explain in the video post, I’m a little confused as to how to mix the waterproofing gel and the powder, I’ve been using the lid. This will also last forever – so little product is used each time – and I use this kit daily. It’s my overall product of the month. Coat the brush with gel then dip into the powder.

    Hi Susie,

Just wondered whether you’d consider doing a blog on how to create “the dewy look”? Best foundations, primers, highlighters to establish this look? Also, since you last did a blog on your fav Clinique products, they have released loads of new products. Would you consider doing a new blog on your Clinique fav’s as I’ve just started using it xx

Your advise would be brill xxx

    Hi Susie,

I read your blog a lot and love how your really into skincare because so am I so I thought I would tell you about the Skin inc skincare brand from japan. It’s so good! I use Clinique products mostly but I bought the skin inc ‘pure prodew cleansing powder’ last year and I couldn’t believe how clean and soft it made my face. It’s now been gone for a while and since it finished I haven’t found anything that can closely compare to it. Their products are quite dear so I’m saving up to get it again but I would really recommend it! I also used the pure revival peel exfoliant on the back of my hand when I was in the shop and the skin on my hand felt so soft afterwards. I found their products so good I went to look them up online and it turns out they have won a lot of awards. Anyways I thought I would tell you because it may be Something you would be interested in.

Love the blog, keep up the good work 🙂

    Elva.
