Marie Reynolds, for those of you who don’t already know is a celebrated facialist and well being therapist. She has been in the beauty industry for 25 years – which is actually an unbelievable thought if you were to see her!
An hour in Marie’s treatment room, brings you more than just glowing skin. From looking at your feet she can tell you which number child you are – or at least if you were first, second, third, or forth conceived. She is fascinating – as well as being very warm and kind.
Marie recently launched a fabulous range of organic treatment candles – the melted wax can be applied to the skin as a luxurious body oil. There are currently seven different scents available – Refresh, Serenity, Indulge, Hope, Liv, Passion, and Hot Toddy.
The MRL Candles can be used as a:
Scent (onto the pulse points)
The ‘Lush Locks’ candle contains avocado butter, argan oil, vitamin E and jojoba oil with neroli and champa flowers, and was designed as a treatment for the hair – hair oils are often used in treatments such as Indian Head massage – and Marie wanted to incorporate a hair oil into her range.
I burnt the candle for approximately 30 minutes – it just needs to burn for long enough to create a pool of wax. Use a wooden spatula – I poured the candle wax into my hand – and it’s quite hard not to spill any! I applied the oil to dry hair – from the scalp all the way down to the ends. I gave my head a good massage, tied my hair up, and left the treatment to work for 30 minutes.
The reason that I like the ‘Lush Locks’ candle so much as a hair treatment, is that not only was my hair left feeling unbelievably soft, healthy, and shiny – but the candle’s wax/oil was completely different to every other hair oil treatment that I have used. Oils can be a real battle to wash from the hair – and this one wasn’t at all. I shampooed once, conditioned normally – and aside from the fabulous results I saw on my locks- there wasn’t any sense of weighed down, heavy hair.
The key to getting oil out of hair is to apply shampoo to dry hair, then add the water, and then shampoo normally – but this wasn’t necessary at all.
The Lush Locks candle is priced at £32.99. The body massage candles are priced from £5.50 – £30.00, dependant on size.
