Philips Re-Aura – The Results

The Philips Re-Aura is an at home skin rejuvenation system – this is my third post on it – my results post.

The fraxel laser technology based machine which is £799 – is recommended for usage over an eight week period. It’s promise is bright, even, and improved skin – with reduction in fine lines and sun damage.

Expensive – yes. But much cheaper than treatments in a clinic, if it is something that you are considering.

I have been using this hand held machine as part of a sponsored post. I wouldn’t particularly have been worried about poor tone of skin, or sun damage, or fine lines on my skin – I wouldn’t have gone in search for a ‘solution’ and therefore would never have been bringing home the Philips Re-Aura. Of course I had been extremely intrigued and keen to try it when I was asked to. Judging by the before and after photos below – that have surprised me – I am very glad that I did!

Fraxel laser works by passing thousands of microscopic laser beams deep down into the skin – this triggers cell renewal. Older, damaged cells are replaced with new collagen packed plump healthy skin cells.

My skin definitely looks more even in tone and colour across the cheek. I’m delighted actually.

I’m going to continue with a top up session from time to time. I believe the key to keeping ‘even’ skin is SPF – daily. I do that anyway, but it’s scary to see after 16 years of using SPF every single day come rain or shine, I still do have some sun damage. The Philips Re-Aura seems to have really helped with that.

You must have a consultation before using this laser system – and as you may gather from my first and second posts – and especially if you have watched the video demonstration – a consultation is necessary. As soon as I got passed the feeling of ‘my skin is burning and I’m worried that that will damage it’ – I can actually say I enjoyed the treatments! It will forever remind me of the USA series Mad Men as every Philips session involved an episode!
