Who Wants To Get Healthy with Me?

Photobucket

My working evenings lifestyle has got me out of every good habit that I got myself into in 2011. I am currently 9 pounds heavier than I was in the photo at the bottom that was taken in Byron Bay in September last year, and 5 pounds heavier than I was in the picture above. I’m perfectly happy with how I look at the moment, but seeing the numbers change on the scales, is a sign to me that a few changes may be needed, before the difference in the pictures and the now becomes harder to realign!

My bad habits are – eating too late, eating when I’m not hungry, lack of imagination as to what to eat, and not doing as much exercise as I should be.

The reason that I don’t mind, and don’t ever get upset or worried when I gain weight is because it’s normal, and I actually really enjoy eating better and exercising, and seeing changes.

If anyone else is feeling the same – let’s share day plans, and recipes, and healthy lunch and dinner ideas, and food diaries, and exercise plans – whatever is helpful for a bit of all round support and a kick start.

This week I will be daily updating my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/susieamybeauty with my food diaries and exercise. Please join me on there and do the same, or give me and others, some added ideas.

I am not particularly a strict eater, even when I am eating with more awareness. I don’t ever cut food groups, or force myself to follow an extreme diet, because this will not work long term for me.

I saw my trainer Ricky Parcell from bootcamp this week in Brighton. Just seeing his face motivated me, and has made me want to get back into last year’s good habits! He is full of energy. He genuinely loves exercise.

Here are some quotes that I love from his twitter @rikiino1boot

‘The UK diet industry is making Β£2.3 billion pounds a year…short term weight loss followed by massive weight is not the answer! Making GOODΒ HEALTHY FOOD CHOICES DAILY is the answer!”

‘Finished my 6am workout. Have you? WAKE UP IN THE MORNING – 1.Wake up with workout kit on 2. Trainers by bed 3. DO IT. NO STORIES. NO BS.’

‘What are you eating today? If your eating processed foods – at least earn it with an intense workout for 45-60mins. Or don’t eat it! Simple.’

Please do subscribe to my facebook page this week, and do this with me. I am going to do updates on here, but infrequently, as not everyone probably wants to read what I am eating throughout the day! Any meal plan suggestions are always great to hear. It’s so easy to get stuck in a food rut – buying the same things – and forgetting how many different meal options are possible!

I think a combined effort of encouragement and motivation and recipe ideas could be beneficial to everyone! It will def make me stick to it more than doing it alone! X

I will certainly join you over on your FB page. I think the seasons have a lot to do with weight gain/loss. I live in Spain, and now, when it is so hot I live on fruit; watermelon is my go-to dinner. However I will be moving back to the UK this year, and I know when winter sets in all the comfort foods will be calling my name (it doesn’t help that I love cooking).

In a way it is great that you love cooking. I think for people who don’t it can be really difficult to create anything let alone healthy things x

This is brilliant, I lack motivation yet know I am capable, especially with two holidays coming up this year, I plan to keep in touch with this, thank you!

    Hi Susie,
Once again a great blog, I very much enjoy reading the blogs you do that are relevant to men. I always try to have a healthy diet; my “staple” is actually a bowl of bran flakes but instead of milk I make up Ready Brek using water and pour the Ready Brek over the Bran Flakes.
Naturally, I make the Ready Brek up to a weak consistency, so it is more like milk in nature.
I find that this is great for my metabolism. I will typically have two bowls a day, using 100g (each bowl) of Bran Flakes and 25g of Ready Brek.
These bowls are rather filling, and I must admit, I actually look forward to them as I rather like Bran Flakes and Ready Brek. Each bowl consists of around 450 calories and I don’t confine my consumption to the morning, it makes a great desert as I make up the Ready Brek with 20 calories of Slender Sweet (low calorie sweetener).
I am not sure how healthy this is but I don’t really eat chocolate and cakes as the cereal satiates me. So I figure it has to be better than sugary products.
I hope you are enjoying touring, perhaps I should have brought you a healthier alternative to Jammy Doggers and Sour Patch when we met in Guilford!
    I greatly admire your work.
    All the best
    Michael

This is exactly what I was looking for, I recently found out the hard way that motivation isn’t my strong suit… I bought the BeachBody from http://www.beachbody.co.uk but the weather, facebook, blogs and everything else got in my way and I ended up not moving a single muscle πŸ™
This is brilliant, count me in ! I need to get healthy before the summer πŸ™‚

I have just ordered the 6 day juice plan from soulmate as needed the biggest start I possibly could as have put so much weight on from not eating the right foods. I did a 6 month boot camp last year after having my second daughter and even though I was a size 10 was so unhealthy and felt so unfit but due to my food habits not changing I lost nothing. Seeing that other people can do it and you have done it I will definitely give this a go and hopefully will then get somewhere x
